Be Prepared — Test Day Tips

Test day is almost here and you are ready to do your best! To help ensure things go smoothly, here are a few important tips to keep in mind.

Plan your arrival

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your test time. If you are late, you may not be able to take the test.

Know where you want to send your scores

You will designate your score recipients on test day.

Have a valid and acceptable ID

Bring at least two forms of valid, ETS-approved photo ID with you. Ensure the name on your ID matches the name you used to register exactly. View more detailed ID requirements

Be prepared to verify your ID

In addition to the ID you bring with you, verification at the test center may include biometric voice and photo identification, fingerprinting/thumbprinting, videotaping and signature comparison.

Dress appropriately

Dress in layers so you can be comfortable regardless of room temperature.

Know what not to bring

Phones, PDAs, all watches, including digital, analog and smartwatches, and any other electronic, recording, listening, scanning or photographic devices are NOT permitted in the test center. Personal items, such as hats and scarves, are not allowed in the testing room.
